Once thought to be extinct, many have theorized trilobites simply began the cultural practice of cremating their dead sometime in the late Cambrian period. Which accounts for the sudden drop off in the fossilized records. Also there is virtually no human records of them dating from that period which shows thier great skill at eluding man, much like the now famous Sasquatch races.
